Be sure to join me and my staff on Saturday, October 15 for our latest Fall Beauty Seminar. You’ll find out about the newest cosmetic procedures and discover how to look and feel your best–easily. Without surgery, downtime and the stress that comes with them, our revolutionary treatments have the capacity to transform how you feel about yourself.
I’ve always said that looking good is not only about looking good. It is about the power that your appearance has to affect your mood, your esteem and your happiness. As the world takes notice, you will, too, and it will feel wonderful.
At the seminar, we’ll be talking about many treatments, doing live demonstrations on real patients and showing you results with computer imaging. Specifically, you’ll learn about Infini, the revolutionary nonsurgical treatment that dramatically reduces sagging skin and wrinkles on the neck. Also, you’ll hear about KYBELLA, the latest fat-melting strategy for minimizing double chins, and even get to see one performed, along with a liquid facelift.
In short, if you want to know about what’s new in nonsurgical cosmetic treatments, this is your chance to find out. All attendees will receive free gifts and special discounts and drawings will be held for free procedures.
Call (631) 878-9200 to register. Don’t wait, as seating is limited.

Just as the skin on your face ages and endures the elements, the delicate neck area is prone to changes in color and tautness that many of us don’t like.
You may notice brown spots and pigmentation, particularly on the decolletage. Or, this chest area may appear red, blotchy or wrinkly, most often due to excessive exposure to the sun. Some people develop little lines or bands that run horizontally around the neck, and others have vertical cords (platysmal bands) that become prominent. Also, when collagen and elastin decreases over time, the skin on the neck may sag and look crepey.
At home, remember to moisturize and use SPF and retinol products, as you would on your face. If you are still not happy, come see us. We have many ways to help your neck look beautiful and more youthful.
SmartLipo Triplex: permanently removes fat by destroying fat cells and tightens the delicate skin on the neck
Kybella: dissolves submental fat permanently with injections and causes some skin contraction, too
Infini: tightens the neck and jowls using microneedling and radio frequency and reduces the crepiness, too
Thermage CPT: tightens skin on the neck and jowls, non-invasively
Exilis Elite: tightens skin on the neck and jowls and reduces fat, non-invasively
Fraxel Repair: resurfaces and tightens the skin on the neck and jowls and reduces crepiness and hyperpigmentation (red and brown spots)

Fall is the time for getting back to work and hitting the books. With vacation time behind us, we tend to become more serious in general about our day to day lives and responsibilities. An important part of every day is how we feel, with happiness being the overwhelming goal for many people. When we are happy, we typically do better–at work, at home, at school, and everywhere else.
How we feel about ourselves determines, in no small part, how happy we are. The more assured in our abilities, the more secure in our emotions, the more enthusiastic about the experiences we have, the happier we seem to be. How content we are with our appearance also plays a role in our overall well-being. It is an old adage–”Look good, feel good”–but I think that it is true.
We can help bring it to life for you, and now is a good time to start, or to begin again. Fall is self-improvement time, the perfect season for getting serious about making subtle changes that will enhance your natural good looks and your confidence.
Here is what we recommend for this month:
Lift Your Spirits, and Your Skin: Using advanced dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane and Restylane Lyft, we can lift and contour facial features, restoring your natural fullness exactly where you need us to. Nonsurgical and virtually pain-free, this “liquid facelift” can reduce wrinkles, lines and folds, create a more rested and fresh look, and return your face to its curved former self.
Sometimes, we “lift” the entire face; sometimes, we target specific spots, such as bags under the eyes, marionette lines, sagging eye lids, jowls and flattened cheeks. We can even disguise bumps on the nose, a method that will keep you out of the operating room and free of anesthesia, recuperation and downtime.
No More Turtlenecks: Particularly effective for this area, microneedling is a treatment for boosting your skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin, which are two of the most important substances for keeping your skin plump and youthful. Tiny needles, ones that are much smaller than the needles we use with dermal fillers, penetrate the top layer of your skin, triggering your body to create the new collagen and elastin. Results may include improved texture and firmness, and I’ve seen terrific success in the reduction of acne scarring, pore size and stretch marks.
Say Eye: Touted as the first nonsurgical facelift, Thermage CPT will actually transform skin all over your body. The Thermage CPT thermal lift will tighten loose skin on the eyelids, under-eye areas, abdomen, arms, legs and even your sagging buttocks. Thermage CPT, one of the most effective lift treatments for a multitude of concerns, yields dramatic results without incisions and recuperation.
In the eye area, for instance, Thermage CPT reduces “hooding,” improves texture, and tones and softens fine lines and crow’s feet. The treatment is a safe, effective and unique option for “eyelid rejuvenation.” The Body Shape procedure is ideal for men and women who are looking to help firm sagging skin and reduce unwanted bulges that dieting and exercise alone cannot seem to change.
Shape a Better You: SmartLipo TriPlex is a minimally invasive method for removing unwanted fat and sculpting areas of the body that you’d like to change. A laser treatment that virtually melts fat cells and suctions them away, the TriPlex technology is updated from the original SmartLipo system in that it uses three wavelengths of laser light and yields better fat removal, tighter skin and high-definition body sculpting capabilities.

You may have heard recently about one of the newest techniques for skin tightening and wrinkle reduction–microneedling. Some of you may be wondering what, exactly, this is.
Simply put, microneedling is a treatment for boosting your skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin, which are two of the most important substances for keeping your skin plump and youthful. Tiny needles, ones that are much smaller than the needles we use with dermal fillers, puncture the top layer of your skin, triggering your body to create the new collagen and elastin. Results may include improved texture and firmness, and I’ve seen terrific success in the reduction of acne scarring, pore size and stretch marks.
The microneedling device that has shown exemplary results in the neck, face and eye area is called Infini. It’s a radiofrequency (RF) device that smooths wrinkles and firms and plumps skin that has been damaged by routine aging, overexposure to the sun, acne or other stressful conditions. An alternative to other fractional anti-aging treatments, Infini requires little recuperation time while offering the results of a nonsurgical facelift. Also, it may be used on all types and colors of skin, even that which is dark or tanned. So, it’s an opportune time to consider having the treatment, after a summer in the sun.
One of the benefits of Infini is that it targets only the layers of the skin that need treating. To get the best results and the most production of new collagen, the deeper tissue under the skin needs to be heated to high temperatures. In order to protect the outside layer of skin, Infini bypasses the epidermis, keeping it cool and untouched.
The treatment is quick and easy, and recovery is more comfortable than that of traditional energy-based procedures.
Come talk with us about this exciting state-of-the-art treatment. We’ll be happy to schedule a complimentary consultation just for you.

Though the official start of autumn is not for another month, this week marks the end of summer for many of us. The post-Labor Day back-to-work, back-to-school mindset begins in earnest after next weekend and with it comes a little reflection on how the summer went.
Did it go too quickly? Did I relax enough? Not relax enough? Check off everything on my do-it-this-summer list?
If you spent some time on the beach, it may also be the time to assess how your skin handled the sun. You may be noticing a few more dark spots on your face and body–hyperpigmentation, we call it. Whether brown or black, large or small, these spots and freckles can appear anywhere, often on your face, chest, arms and hands. The sun’s UV rays can cause these marks to crop up, even after one day. Natural aging is also a culprit.
To reduce sunspots, freckles, age/liver spots, which are usually small and flat, we offer treatments of Fraxel Dual Laser, Intense Pulsed Light and Diolite.
Other types of hyperpigmentation can emerge, too, at all times of year. These are due to different triggers, and we have treatments for all of them. Take a look below at which type you may have…
Melasma: Look for light to medium brown discoloration, usually on the cheeks, sides of your face, upper nose, forehead and lips. You may see splotchy patches in irregular sizes and shapes. Often, melasma appears when you are pregnant or have just gone through childbirth (it’s sometimes called “The Mask of Pregnancy”). A hormone surge during these times can cause the changes in your skin. Combined with excessive sun exposure, the effects may be pronounced.
Our treatment: Fraxel Dual Laser
PIH: Look for flat pink, red or brown spots on the face. If you’ve had inflammatory acne, you may be prone to this sort of hyperpigmentation.
Our treatment: Light salicylic acid chemical peels
Facial Blood Vessels: Vascular lesions, commonly called “spider veins” are extra blood vessels that are superficially located in the skin. Often, the skin of cheeks, chin and forehead appear red.
Our treatment: Diolite, IPL
Our best advice for minimizing spots is to stay clear of the sun and wear sunscreen–and more sunscreen–every time that you go out, even in the upcoming weeks and through the fall.
