When the Sun Goes Down…Try These Treatments
Some cosmetic procedures are best performed when the sun isn’t too strong. With beach days behind us and more clothing ahead, fall is a good time to think about having these treatments.
Here are a few procedures to think about:
This laser procedure helps to decrease redness, pigmentation, lines and pore size, and improves the overall texture and tone of your skin. IPL can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands and legs. The treatment is noninvasive and will not damage the surface of your skin. It works by delivering broadband light to the deeper parts of the skin (dermis), while the outside layer (epidermis) is left untouched.
IPL photorejuvenation treats imperfections including spider veins, rosacea, fine wrinkles, sun and age spots, vascular lesions and acne and acne scarring.
The Diolite laser is known for its extreme precision. It pinpoints the skin’s target area, helping to erase vascular and pigmented imperfections while leaving surrounding tissue untouched. Unlike older lasers that could cause pain, blistering, oozing and crusting, Diolite produces the same results without any uncomfortable side effects.
The laser works by generating an intense beam of light that is absorbed by the blood vessels in the affected area. Unwanted cells are destroyed, leaving your skin healthy-looking and refreshed.
This is sometimes a simple alternative to fractional laser treatments. Dermafrac incorporates breakthrough micro-channeling technology, infusing your skin with serums that target specific conditions. Microneedles penetrate the skin and transport the serums, without causing bleeding.
DermaFrac is safe and effective for all skin types and is used to treat acne, scars, stretch marks, skin dehydration, superficial fine lines and wrinkles and pigmentation or uneven tone.
For acne, lactic and salicylic acids may be infused in this way. For lightening, kojic acid is used. If your skin needs hydrating, DermaFrac will send hyaluronic acid into your skin using long-lasting HylaSponge technology. To keep your skin looking youthful, a mix of peptides that stimulate collagen and fibroblast production and help to relax facial muscles is used.

Cheek to Cheek
You may not notice it right away, but cheeks tend to flatten as you get older. It’s typically a less obvious sign of aging, but if you see a change in contour, it could be time for an easy fix.
Sometimes, the natural curve of your cheek is lost, causing your skin to droop and your profile to lose definition. The shape of your cheeks has a huge impact on the look of your entire face. So, if you’re not happy with any changes to your cheek area, you may not feel so terrific in general. With a simple dermal filler, we can restore youthful fullness, in a natural and subtle way.
Previously, aging cheeks were corrected with invasive traditional surgery that tightened the overlying skin and lifted the deeper soft tissues. Now, such extensive procedures are not at all necessary. Voluma XC, an injectable filler, can produce the same result, providing a lift that is free of incisions, anesthesia and recuperation time.
Juvederm Voluma XC is an FDA-approved filler that instantly adds natural-looking volume to the cheeks. It is made from a naturally occurring complex sugar, and studies have shown that results may last as long as two years after treatment.

The Hit Parade of Eye Concerns: Your Four Favorites
The delicate skin above and under your eyes is prone to all sorts of issues. And, since your eyes are central to your overall expression, any small problems seem to have great impact. The aging process tends to reveal itself significantly in this thin skin, but there are tried-and-true treatments for minimizing its negative effects.
Droopy Lids and Brows:
You may think that this issue requires traditional surgery. But we have effective ways to lift drooping skin above the eye, without any incisions or downtime. The Thermage thermal lift is one of the best nonsurgical treatments for this area of your face, stimulating your body to create collagen that has been lost with age. You’ll have smoother and tighter skin for years.
Puffiness or Sunken Spots:
Though you may be getting the rest you need and drinking plenty of water, it’s still possible to develop puffs of skin or hollowing in the tear troughs under your eyes. Depending on your unique situation, we can improve the appearance of these conditions in several ways. First, Thermage will help lift and firm the delicate skin. Also, Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero are dermal fillers, made from natural injectable hylauronic acid, that will instantly plump and smooth under eye hollows.
Crow’s feet and wrinkles:
The natural movement of the eye area during expression will, over time, create lines and wrinkles. We can use Botox or Dysport injections to help minimize stubborn, deep-set wrinkles that crop up as we age. These treatments smooth out the lines by blocking nerve impulses to the muscles that cause the creases. In as soon as a week, your eyes will appear bright and refreshed, and wrinkles will be minimized.
Dark circles:
While there isn’t a cosmetic “concealer” treatment to replace your makeup, there are non-invasive procedures that can reduce the causes that make the dark circles apparent. These dark circles are usually accentuated by the shadows that form between puffiness under the eye and the hollows coming from the tear trough. Addressing both the bulge and the hollow tear troughs, we can help to minimize the shadow, or the appearance of dark circles. Thermage will lift the eye area. Hylauronic acid fillers Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero will restore fullness and smoothness to sunken or hollow tear troughs.
One of the most common areas of the face to be treated, the eyes endure a host of issues. Schedule a complimentary consultation today, and we’ll help you determine which treatments are the best for you.

The Fraxel Decision: Which is Right for You?
The gold standard of laser skin rejuvenation treatments, Fraxel is a state-of-the-art procedure for repairing skin. Whether you suffer from sun damage or the effects of aging and the environment, Fraxel lasers safely and effectively restore your skin. Pinpointing just the areas that need improvement, Fraxel will return your skin to its youthful radiance, texture and tone.
You have two options for treatment, Fraxel DUAL and Fraxel Repair.
Here is what each can do for you…
The Fraxel DUAL Laser provides moderate-level treatment for many skin conditions, including pigmentation, uneven tone, lines and acne scarring, poor texture and more, both on and off the face. It’s safe for use on all skin types, stimulating your body’s natural healing process as it resurfaces and restores damaged skin. There is no downtime, though you may need several treatments for optimal effects.
Fraxel Repair, a more aggressive approach than Fraxel DUAL, provides a higher level of treatment. It’s a great choice for deep lines, hard-to-erase lip lines, pronounced photodamage, sagging face and neck skin, facial wrinkles and discolorations, age-related/sun-damaged rough skin texture, acne scars and surgical scars. Fraxel Repair deeply penetrates the skin with carbon dioxide laser beams, which minimize wrinkles and discolorations and also tighten skin. Typically, just one treatment is necessary, yielding superior results. Old damaged skin is removed, allowing for new collagen formation. Recuperation time is more considerable than that of the DUAL.
With either treatment, your skin will emerge looking youthful, smooth and beautiful. Call our office today to schedule a complimentary consultation, and we’ll help you determine which procedure is best for you.
