Considering how much you use your hands, you may have forgotten to pay proper attention to them. Despite having a fresh face and youthful body, you could be giving away your age every time you wave hello.
But now, there is a solution. The FDA has just approved the use of Radiesse for hand augmentation. The dermal filler is perfect for plumping the hollow spaces that form on the backs of your hands, restoring volume and providing smooth natural-looking results. Radiesse is the first and only FDA-approved product for this use.
In one treatment, you’ll notice immediate improvement that can last a year or more. You may want to couple Radiesse with a laser treatment that minimizes the dark spots that often emerge on hands.
Radiesse injections have been used for years to treat deep lines and depressions around the mouth and facial wasting, or hollowing. It is a nonsurgical treatment that is bio-compatible and able to stimulate your body’s own collagen growth.
Call our office to learn more about how your hands can look as young as the rest of you.

The myths about Botox seem endless. The longer I am in practice, the more I hear them. Despite the numbers of people who are treated with Botox for crow’s feet and frown lines around the eyes and brows, misinformation is rampant.
So, herewith…what Botox is and isn’t:
*Botox has been around for a while. In 2002, it became the first FDA-approved product for treating frown lines. In 2013, it because the first and only FDA-approved product for minimizing crow’s feet. It is one of the most widely studied medical aesthetic formulations.
*It is not new and untested.
*Botox is good for both men and women. About one of every ten patients is a man.
*It is not for women only.
*A Botox treatment takes about ten minutes to perform.
*It is not a time-consuming procedure requiring downtime or rest.
*Botox enhances your natural beauty.
*It will not make you appear as if you’ve had drastic cosmetic work done.

And thanks to all of you who attended my Fall Beauty Seminar this past weekend. It was great to see you, as always.
See you again soon.
Each season places different demands on the skin. Though it may seem harmless, with its crisp sunny days and moderate temperatures, fall presents its own collection of issues for post-summer skin.
Outside, cool dry air makes it difficult for skin to retain its moisture. Inside, heating does the same. As a result, you may notice that your skin tone looks sallow and dull, develops dark spots, flakes and becomes irritated more easily. Also, chronic skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema may intensify. We advise using heavier moisturizers during the fall (particularly when your skin is damp after bathing), drinking more water, and continuing to use sunscreen.
For the removal of localized areas of pigmentation, or dark spots caused by overexposure to the sun, we offer nonsurgical state-of-the-art laser treatments. Some of these include Fraxel DUAL Laser, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), Fraxel Repair Laser, Diolite Laser, Clear & Brilliant, DermaFrac and GentleWaves Photomodulation.
Finally this week, remember to register for our upcoming Fall Beauty Seminar, where you’ll learn about all the latest cosmetic procedures, including the new double-chin treatment, Kybella, as well as the new fillers, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk and Voluma. You’ll also see real patients undergo live procedures, hear the latest on removing excess fat and see computer images of how you’d look after specific treatments.

Last year, four of the five top cosmetic surgical procedures experienced a decline in popularity. At the same time, the top minimally invasive treatments all saw a boost.
We have known for a long time that dramatic transformation is possible with safe and quick nonsurgical procedures.
Botox, dermal fillers, laser hair removal and chemical peels all jumped significantly in popularity. The one surgical procedure that saw a five percent increase was traditional liposuction. But rather than endure the trials of traditional surgical liposuction, you might consider SmartLipo Triplex, a minimally invasive contouring procedure that we routinely perform with terrific results.
SmartLipo TriPlex removes unwanted fat and sculpts areas of the body that youíd like to change. Generally, these are localized fat deposits that fail to respond to diet and exercise. They linger no matter what you do, and cause a great deal of frustration and embarrassment. SmartLipo TriPlex can change the way you feel about your body after one treatment.
A laser procedure that virtually melts fat cells and suctions them away, the TriPlex technology is updated from the original SmartLipo system in that it uses three wavelengths of laser light and yields better fat removal, tighter skin and high-definition body sculpting capabilities. This laser method for fat removal and body sculpting has been used in Europe, Asia and South America for about 10 years and was approved by the FDA for use in the United States in 2006.
The procedure is performed under local, not general anesthesia, and causes less swelling, bruising and pain than traditional liposuction.
